Redskins cornerback Tracy Porter is recovering from surgery on his shoulder, Coach Jay Gruden acknowledged Saturday.

“He just had surgery after the season,” Gruden said at Redskins Park. “He’s just recovering. He’s going to be fine for training camp.”

It’s unclear when Porter was injured, but Gruden indicated that the injury occurred while the 27-year-old played for the Raiders last season. Gruden added that the procedure was to repair a torn labrum. He did not say which shoulder.

Porter was signed this offseason to be the Redskins’ third corner behind DeAngelo Hall and David Amerson.

“It’s a minor deal,” Gruden said. “He’s recovering and will be fully recovered by the time we start training camp.”

Gruden added that Porter has been rehabbing with head athletic trainer Larry Hess and is already able to run.
