Wade Phillips has worked plenty of NFL practices, some as defensive coordinator, others as head coach. Son of former Houston Oilers legendary coach Bum Phillips, Wade has probably been on NFL sidelines the bulk of his life. But Monday, Wade hit Redskins Park and took in practice from a different role: proud father.
Wade's son Wes Phillips is the Redskins tight ends coach, and Monday both father and son watched the Washington team work their way through offseason drills.
"This is ‘Sons Bring Their Dads to Work Day,’ so I got the opportunity to come out,” Phillips told Redskins.com. “It was really nice for Coach Gruden and Bruce (Allen) and those guys to let me come.”
